where there’s no uninked skin left
“Like wiping your ass with silk.”
Or when you’re going through TSA and suddenly panic about whether or not you hid a bomb up your butt.
“Oh, that’s just a Fat-Man-shaped butt plug.”
When did the pronunciation change from N-E-S to Nes?
Of the people I knew as a kid, the “N.E.S.”/“Nes” divide was about even (I’m in the US)

Didn’t HMD make a couple of those too?
Yes, the HMD Skyline has an easily removable backplate and battery.

That can’t possibly be a real sign.

I’m a bit surprised that they didn’t crack down harder after that incident
That incident was 15 years ago It’s entirely possible that they did tighten things up, but relaxed those changes after several years. Probably not relaxed now, though…

She’s a sassy, rebellious New Yorker
I’m pretty sure she’s from California? Unless you’re being metaphorical or something.

XKCD, if he were a little more macabre.

Don’t forget leading zeroes, we’re not half assing this!

In most restaurants I saw there was no wall in between.
This was my experience as well. I can still see it today in some older restaurants that haven’t been renovated in years, where there’s an area of the dining room with a much higher ceiling.

our server is getting Gerbilled by Lemmywinks
In 10 years, this will be an XKCD comic.

Couldn’t they just move .io to a different category?
Specifically the issue is that two letter TLDs are reserved exclusively for countries/governments. So far only one exception has been made to this rule, .su for the Soviet Union. So another exemption is certainly possible.

Party A gets 40% of the vote
Party A wins because they get the majority
Just going to point out, 40% is not a majority. In this case they have a plurality.

I still have the T-Mobile G1 phone plan.
Man that was a great phone.
My plan isn’t quite that old, but it’s getting up there. They recently increased my price by a few dollars per line. Then they tried to get me to move to a current plan, which turned out to be 20% higher price for less return. I had to try not to burst out laughing at the poor guy’s face.
I’ve been with TMo for more than 20 years–they’re the only carrier I’ve ever used–but if my price goes up again I’m jumping ship.

Sounds like they’re trying to put out a titanium fire using only a bucket of water.
I have a new phrase to use in the future.

I still don’t know if a USB micro or mini is the one that charges my PS4 controller
It’s Micro-B, to be specific.
Let’s not even talk about zinc.
