I was a voracious reader but there are so many time wasters now. Well and my eyes are not as good as they used to be making reading sorta a pain.

You mean like direct democracy where everyone votes on everything? Would there be any guardrails like the bill of rights from the us (currently being trampled on)? I could not see it working. You would at least need a legislature to craft legislation and then have at most one general populace vote a month with at least a month of lead time to read the legislature and the character count would need to be limited.

Cities have a lot of free things like parks or such and even activities. Like they had weekly dancing in summer in parks in the evening or yoga in the morning. In addition in my city you could get passes to museums and zoos and such from the library for free if you are a resident. Oooh. The libraries are incredible to. Often there are groups that do interesting things to and universities are a good place to find some interesting things.

So first off existence vs what is the reality of existence is sorta two different thing. Descartes pretty much sums it up there which is kind of funny as it did not really click when I was younger but I finally sorta got it. My reality starts with my thoughts. Having thoughts means I exist in terms of if existence is a thing. If my existence is false my concept of existence is false and therefore I have a false existence that I see as existence which is a type of existence. From there it gets a bit more difficult but follows sorta the same. With your thoughts you have perceptions. They could be true or they could be false but from your perspective your perceptions come at you relatively consistently with your actions so either way they functionally are a type of existence. When it comes to others they appear to have knowledge I do not and I learn things from them and the world. So there is some independent existence to them. There is a possibility of a false existence that is completely encompassed by you but if that is the case then you apparently hide knowledge from yourself till it fits the story. Once again regardless the nature of the existence you perceive and interact with works with the best consistency if you interact with people as if they are their own independent existent beings. So for all practical purposes they exist. As you can see it pretty much continues on with WYSIWYG. What you see (experience) is what you get.

Yeah its like. Maybe just maybe the federal government not following its own laws leads to people not following the law.

There have been so many predictions on endtimes which is kinda funny since the whole specific biblical thing about that not happening. Still preachers will preach it like they are not contradicting their whole religion. I mean like propserity doctrine so…

Quality of life wise philosophy is the best. Its the basis of most everything. I would be scared as heck to be looking for work with just that though. When I had an opportunity to get a masters I picked up education partially because I was interested in it but also because its largely a mix of philosophy, psychology, and statistics. Likely as close as I could get to philosophy while still being sellable on my resume.

this gets me about the bs work reqs. They should give you a place to go to meet the req then (lets be clear the req itself is stupid) if you can’t find a job. It literally makes no sense. Can’t find a job so I need help. Can’t help unless you work a job ???

I find the jobs are super picky. Had one with a laundry list except for one job scheduling software and I had experience in the one they wanted but the feedback I got back was that the other one was real important even though I had the other and everything else. So I had experience with job scheduling software in general. including one they used. but not the other. and in that laundry list is software way more complicated than job scheduling. Through most of my career having about half of what they wanted was fine and they got that picking up the rest was not going to be a big deal for anyone who had experience in the field.

Is it fixed? although interest rates are likely to go down so even a non fixed is helpful currently.

I don’t regret my education. My major wanted to get out of LAS the way engineering did and im so glad it was an LAS degree as I feel it is a much better foundation.
