Exactly, it seems to be common for new people to think hevc is just like avc but better. It is a format that is just a pain to work with, and is barely supported as compared to h264.

Even streaming services are sick of that format and rather use h264 or AV1.

It is becoming more aware that discrimination is rising rather than falling in this society. Laws like this explicitly increase the ageism within the society, and like all other individuals teens want to be treated equally; and do what they consider is ethically right.

Such laws will never stop underage viewing, as even in the mode discriminate society it is safe to say options are deemed to exist. And like adults which prefer to use legitimate stuff, it is naive to think teens will be absolutely willing to be stripped off their rights when the legitimacy turns hostile.

So even with those methods do you think they will use the age checking ethically? This isn’t a problem with privacy, but also with discrimination. Ageism is what’s going to occur.

The vision of our future is a police state, a complete control of the populace like the slaves we are. This age weaponisation should’ve been a clear indication, something totally unjust and ageist is completely inexcusable.

Thing is, we shouldn’t blame America for it, we should blame all tyrannical governments which oppress human rights. This isn’t the problem for the future, it is a present problem; authoritarianism is a threat to humanity.

Unfortunately, that’s what usually happens. Asking the “why” is the most fundamental thing here; it is what shapes who you are, and questions those moral views you have gained or has been projected on you.

The most important thing is, that you know the situation best. So basing your morals off of incorrect wording such as in reddit, will further drag you down.

Yes there are always consequences. However, this is the case where personal ethics are routinely projected into others, age gaps are demonised by default the same way how sexual preferences where before the 21st century. But either way, time should show what the result will be.

Agreed, everyone had their own morals on this and that is perfectly fine. It’s up to them to decide if that relationship is going to hold.

And of course there might be downsides just like there are going to be perceived upsides - it really depends on their interaction, as even same age groups can have major downsides.

Additionally, I’d want clarification on how those massive libraries which are over shared are related to oversharing.

This doesn’t hold much, because how do these two relate? Of course that could be deemed privacy invasive by anyone - and even considered to be trust invasive due to consent being taken loosely. But I wouldn’t consider oversharing to be remotely close to such crime.

It is a cyber-enabled crime, and as such can take other forms besides digital.

Also this situation presented by the article seems to be odd. The only biggest change there was was the child protection laws and yet it’s growing faster than ever (of course it’s not working) - but I wonder if they provide some statistics because I might be just speculating.

This isn’t only an issue with Linux, it’s an issue within the whole technology industry. Simple things like Wi-Fi cards and the like, should be all standardized.

Hardware shouldn’t be catered to any particular os.
