Meanwhile, they’re banning old, established accounts in massive waves. I’m not sure who they want using the site. New accounts aren’t allowed to post anything, and old accounts get kicked out.
I remember when they first rolled out the “made for kids” video designation, “Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared” (a horror video) was labeled as children’s content by the AI until enough actual users had pointed out the error on Twitter.
I got a fifteen year old account permabanned for reporting someone that kept calling me slurs. Appeal got tossed out. I’ve since moved to an entirely different country and got all new devices, but my attempt at making a new account was still permabanned for ban evasion before I even made a comment or joined any subs. Lasted about two hours.
It’s very excessive. And now I’m genuinely curious what all they use to determine which accounts belong to former users. It’s quite odd that they were able to figure it out when I’m not in the same part of the world anymore, was on a brand new device, was using a new email address to sign up, and hadn’t even joined any of my former subreddits or said anything. Or is there just an over-sensitive AI that autobans a lot of new accounts just in case now?
Was planning to use it to just help with settling in where I’m living now, but I guess not lol
They have AI automatically banning a lot of long-term users for very odd and flimsy reasons, the appeals process is nonexistent, and the bans are permanent. Meanwhile, the site is being overrun with bots. Obviously, bots have been on the platform for a long time, but there’s been a definite uptick recently.
If they keep throwing out their real users and letting bots generate everything, people are going to exit Reddit, if for no other reason than they’re just kicked out.
Explains why the face is too big. A human would have portrayed it more accurately.

I swear that feature doesn’t work. I’ve told it to stop recommending TheQuartering to me so many times and he always pops back up.
Considering the reasons people are getting decade+ old accounts permanently IP banned with no chance of appeal, it’s like they’re trying to turn the website into a read-only platform for AI generated content.
Like, I got my whole household permabanned for reporting someone that was calling me bigoted slurs. Been on the site for fifteen years, but that was enough for them to decide that I, and anyone who lives with me, is too dangerous to keep around.
People are also getting permanent IP bans for things like quoting TV shows in fandom subs dedicated to said shows, upvoting particular comments, criticizing Israel, and a whole host of other things that make no sense. (Example: My cousin is permabanned for saying “I won’t let a single Saiyan live” in a Dragon Ball Z subreddit, which was “inciting violence.” If you’re unfamiliar with the show, that’s literally just a line from it…)
If you make a new account afterwards, you’ll be instantly banned. And most subs won’t even let new accounts post, so even if your new one manages to survive for a bit, you can’t do anything with it.
Near as I can tell, it started around the beginning of the year when Elon got his feelings hurt because there were subs making fun of him and his DOGE crew. Can’t say for sure if that’s what prompted this current mess, but that’s my personal theory at the moment.
Myself and most of my family are fleeing next week, and I’m still worried that this infection will spread to where we’re going. They want this to be global.
I got my 15 year old account permanently banned for filing one report against a user who was stalking my profile to call me slurs. (This was “abusing the report button”, apparently.) Everyone in my household got their accounts banned alongside mine. It’s very strange how the site is being run now.
Well, was it a photo of an adult tooth or a baby tooth? Adult teeth are too mature for the younguns.
I have perpetually looked like I’m 12 since 2008. That’s the most common number people always give me when they guess my age. I’m so sure an AI would somehow guess correctly.
Trump made it great, but Biden and woke already made it so un-great that the greatness hasn’t all trickled down yet.
I haven’t watched YouTube much since they broke the search. And that’s far from the only thing they broke, it’s just what stopped making the site very worthwhile to me. I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s significantly cut down or stopped using it.
It was across multiple communities, as the user was following me and responding to everything I said. The comment I reported was in r/memes, and the first place they started hassling me was r/funny.
Once I know it’s alright to do so, I’ll share a screenshot of one of the messages they sent to me.
I think the last normal year was either 2012 or 2013.
Go on vacation? Believe it or not, banned.
Before my permaban, I received a warning for saying “Luigi”. In a Nintendo sub, while talking about the Mario brother. Comment got removed for “inciting violence”.
My cousin’s permaban was for saying “I won’t let a single saiyan live” in a dragon ball sub. This was “inciting violence”. It’s a line from the anime, and saiyans don’t actually exist, but the appeal went nowhere.
